What are product codes and barcodes?
Product codes and barcodes are the unsung heroes of our warehouse. They make it possible to process orders with ease and accuracy and keep your inventory under control.
What are product codes?
Product codes, also known as SKUs, are unique numbers that identify each specific product stored in our warehouse. This means that every product has its own distinct code, which significantly reduces misunderstandings and errors when packing orders. The WMS is very user-friendly when it comes to managing product codes and makes it easy to enter them, up to a maximum of 250 characters.
What are barcodes?
Barcodes, on the other hand, are a visual representation of these product codes, designed to be easily scanned during the picking process. While the product code is the unique identification number, the barcode is the visual label that represents that number. It is important to note that scanners do not actually read the numbers themselves, which is why a label must always be created using either the product code or the barcode.
Product codes and barcodes are the driving force behind order processing. They eliminate unnecessary work, streamline processes, and ensure the precision required for efficient warehouse management.
