Insurance The insurance coverage is up to €500 per package (purchase value)

The weight of the shipment
The weight is limited to 32 kg per package.

Dimensions
Maximum permitted length per package: 2.00 m.
Maximum permitted dimensions per package: 300 cm (1xL + 2xW + 2xH).

Energy surcharge (fuel and electricity)

Non-conveyables surcharge
The non-conveyables surcharge is €4.50 per package.

What does this surcharge apply to? A package that cannot be automatically sorted due to its nature, size, shape, or packaging. This includes, at a minimum:

• goods that, due to their nature, may be damaged by automatic sorting;
• the goods may cause damage to the automatic sorting system;
• the length of the shipment exceeds 120 cm and/or the width exceeds 60 cm and/or the height exceeds 60 cm;
• the packages are not packaged or are not properly packaged;
• the packages have protruding parts, an uneven bottom, or the shipment’s center of gravity is above the center;
• the packages are tubes or rolls and all other shipments that GLS classifies as non-automatically sortable.

Volume surcharge
A volume surcharge of €4.50 applies to packages with a volume greater than 38.4 kg or 128 liters (length x width x height). If a Non-Conveyable surcharge applies, the volume surcharge does not apply.

For a Benelux shipment with a girth exceeding 300 cm, the shipment will be sent via the GLS Freight network. Shipments with a destination other than the Benelux will be returned to the sender. In both situations, different rates apply.

Volume calculation example: A package has the following dimensions: length 60 cm, width 50 cm, height 50 cm. The volume of this package is then (60 x 50 x 50) / 1000 = 150 liters. A volume surcharge of €4.50 applies.

Wadden Islands
The surcharge for delivery to the Wadden Islands is €7.23 per shipment.

European Islands
The surcharge for delivery to the European Islands is €32.01 per package.
Document Surcharge (Customs) A document surcharge, applied by customs, is €29.84 per declaration.

Eco-surcharge
The Eco-surcharge for GLS Parcel is €0.06 per package.

Returns (due to refusal or undeliverable)
GLS Netherlands reserves the right to charge the sender the costs (equal to the original shipping costs) for return shipments (refused or undeliverable shipments).

Waiting time
€13.90 per quarter hour, first half hour free.

Wadden Islands
100% surcharge on freight costs.

Second delivery attempt in NL
75% surcharge on freight costs.

Second delivery attempt in BE/LU
50% surcharge on freight costs.

Time-specific delivery before 10:00 a.m.
€66.72 per shipment.

Eco-surcharge
The Eco-surcharge for GLS Freight is 1.1% of the rate for the shipment in question.

Time-specific delivery before 12:00 PM
€33.36 per shipment.

Toll charges BE
5% surcharge on freight costs + €1.00 per shipment.

Return shipping
100% surcharge on freight costs.

Road toll and energy surcharge
