The different product types

The WMS uses four different product types, making inventory management both flexible and efficient.

1. Standard product:

This is the most common product type. New products added to the system are automatically assigned this type. These are the products for which inventory is tracked and that can be purchased from a supplier. In addition, these products can be part of one or more product bundles. An example of this is a standard stock item, such as a facial cleanser or a pillow.

2. Product with unlimited stock:

As the name suggests, these are products that never run out. This product type is not linked to a supplier and is marked as "picked" on the picking list. Examples include marketing inserts, special packaging, or personalized cards that are included with every order.

3. Virtual composition:

Details about this product type are available in this article. Think of a gift set consisting of several "regular" items that are also sold separately.

4. Assembly using our own inventory:

You can find more information about this on this page as well. An example of this could be a gift set, where the individual components (special packaging, SKU 1 + SKU 34 + SKU 10) can also be sold separately, but the gift set as a whole also has its own inventory.

With these four product types , you can manage your inventory with great flexibility, improve cash flow by reducing inventory, and significantly increase the efficiency of order processing.
